Huntington Beach, Calif. - The 2019 men's volleyball season kickoff Wednesday night with Golden West hosting the Long Beach City College Vikings. The Rustlers (0-1) fell in three straight sets to the Vikings (1-0) 25-16, 25-16, 25-19.
It was head coach Kevin Wray's first match leading the Rustlers against perennial CCCAA final four qualifiers Long Beach, and the men held tough for as long as they could. Freshman outside hitter led the Rustlers with 5 kills and 6 digs while setter Brandon Pank led the way with 7 assists and a block solo.
The Rustlers play at home next in a schedule change, they will host Moorpark on February 6th at 6pm.
