Huntington Beach, Calif. – Golden West (0-3) suffered their third defeat of the season by the hands of El Camino (3-0) in four sets (22-25, 25-23, 25-12, 25-18) at home.
Outside hitter Alvin Truong led the Rustlers with 19 kills and a serving ace. Fellow sophomore opposite hitter Lenzie Ainsworth contributed with 11 kills of his own. On the defensive end, freshman Daniel Vasquez had a team-high nine digs. Middle blocker Taivasa Alama was credited with six blocks and two service aces. Pablo Enriquez had 40 assists.
After taking the first set from the Warriors 25-22, the Rustlers lost a tight set by the score of 25-23. Golden West couldn't recover as they went on to lose the next two sets and the match, 3-1, to El Camino.
