Golden West College Wraps Up Conference Championships with Podium Finish and Gritty Final Day
Mission Viejo, CA — The Golden West College women's swim team closed out the 2025 Orange Empire Conference Championships at Saddleback College on Saturday, April 19 with one of their most determined performances of the season, capped by a bronze medal finish and multiple swimmers scoring key points in final events.
Sophomore Hanna Menyhart delivered the top result for the Rustlers on the final day, placing 3rd in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:23.19, earning 16 points. It marked her second A-final appearance of the meet and her highest individual finish, capping off a standout weekend.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Zoe Esquivel continued her stellar championship meet by finishing 5th overall with a time of 2:46.14, adding 14 more points to her meet total. Her consistency across all three days helped anchor the Rustlers' overall scoring.
Catherine Le showed endurance in the distance-heavy 1650-yard freestyle, finishing 7th overall in 22:26.45, contributing 12 points. The freshman battled through a competitive field and improved on her seed time significantly.
Monet Panter wrapped up her weekend with a finals swim in the 100-yard IM, placing 7th in the A-final in a time of 1:13.27, good for 12 points. It marked her second scoring performance of the championship.
