Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West scores four goals in the second half en route to a 6-2 blowout win over visiting LA Valley Friday morning.
Six different Rustlers found the back of the goal as Kennedy Klumker and Kaila Levoit scored the first half goals for a 2-1 lead at halftime. Klumker (30th minute) used a great cross from Elise Ramirez to tie the match 1-1 after LA Valley scored early. Shortly after Kulmker's goal, Levoit scored off a header from a corner kick from Alyssa Serrano for the 2-1 halftime lead.
It didn't take long for Golden West to extend their lead in the second half when Nina Espey netted her first goal of the season from 20-yards out in the 47th minute. Three minutes later it was Serrano finding the net with her own goal from 18-yards out off a throw-in by Espey for a 4-1 lead. Jordan Havican (57th minute) and Katrina Vidal (70th minute) would cap off the scoring run with a goal each for a commanding 6-1 lead. LA Valley would score before the end of the match for the final score 6-2.
Golden West is back at home on Wednesday, September 14 at 3pm to take on visiting Mt. SAC.
