Men's Water Polo Announces Rustlers on the Move
Huntington Beach, Calif. — Golden West College is proud to announce the transfer of several standout student-athletes from the Rustler men's water polo team to four-year universities, where they will continue both their academic and athletic pursuits.
This year's class includes a number of exceptional student-athletes continuing their water polo careers at the NCAA level:

Pablo Souza – Concordia University Irvine (NCAA Division II)
One of the team's leaders in the cage, de Souza played in 30 games with 25 starts this past season. He recorded 207 saves, finishing with a .591 save percentage and an impressive 23-4 record in goal. -
Ethan Carrington – University of the Pacific (NCAA Division I)
A dynamic offensive threat, Carrington started 38 of 39 games, scoring 37 goals and tallying 43 assists. He also added 35 steals and drew 45 exclusions while shooting at a 54.4% clip. -
Jose Antonio Silva – Whittier College (NCAA Division III)
Silva made his presence felt in the cage with 89 saves in 16 appearances and a .549 save percentage. He went undefeated in the net, posting a 6-0 record. - José Pedro Carvalho – Whittier College (NCAA Division III)
A strong presence at center, Carvalho scored 32 goals with a 68.1% shooting percentage in just 21 games. He also drew 12 exclusions and added 25 steals.
In addition to those continuing at the varsity level, the Rustlers are equally thrilled to see several more student-athletes transferring to universities where they will continue their education and compete in collegiate club water polo:

Antonio Doria – Long Beach State
Appearing in 31 games, Doria scored 21 goals and added 18 assists with a shooting percentage of 67.7%, one of the best on the team. -
Gonçalo Silva – Long Beach State
A consistent contributor, Silva played in 21 games, scoring 15 goals with 10 assists while shooting at 57.7%. -
Cody Chastain – San Diego State University
Chastain had a stellar season with 28 goals, 15 assists, and 21 exclusions drawn. He finished with a 62.2% shooting percentage, placing him among the team leaders.
Additionally, two Rustlers are continuing their academic pursuits abroad:

Edward Handley – University of Western Australia
One of the team's most dynamic centers, Handley scored 68 goals, drew 21 exclusions, and shot 64.2% over 39 games. He will pursue his academics in Perth, Australia. -
Timothy Lonnqvist – Helsinki School of Business, Finland
Lonnqvist contributed 17 goals and 19 assists in 26 appearances, and will now further his education in Finland.
Coach Taylor stated "I am very proud of this group and we still have a few more deciding about their future academic and athletic pursuits."
