2011 Water Polo Headlines
The Golden West College Men’s Water Polo team finished the 2011 season with a record of 34-1 defeating Long Beach City College 9-6.
Top-seeded Golden West College slowly pulled away from Diablo Valley College in the second men’s semi-final game, and posted a 14-8 victory.

Golden West’s Marko Madaras, a freshman, scored in the first three-minute overtime period, and Paul Miernicki and Spencer Van Horne had two key steals in the final minute as the Rustlers downed Long Beach City, 9-8, in overtime in the finals of the Southern California Championship match at Riverside City College.

The Rustlers routed Riverside City College 20-10 to be crowned Orange Empire Conference Champions. With the win, Golden West secures the No. 1 seed into the Southern California Championships. and will face the winner of OCC/Mt. SAC at 10:15am Friday morning.
The Rustlers improve to 4-0 in conference play and secured the #1 seed into the OEC tournament. Golden West beat Riverside 19-13 in their last home conference match of the 2011 season.
