Rustlers Lewis Finishes 2nd in the 5000M at OCC Classic
COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Golden West College men's track and field team delivered an impressive performance at the Orange Coast College Classic on Friday, March 13, highlighted by multiple personal-best marks and a runner-up finish.
Freshman Alejandro Lewis led the way for the Rustlers with a standout performance in the 5000 meters, earning a 2nd place finish while setting a new personal best time of 17:01.55. His strong effort paced Golden West in the distance events and marked one of the top performances of the meet.
In the field events, the Rustlers continued to show growth and progress across the board. Mason Lanno recorded a personal-best throw of 11.76 meters in the shot put, finishing 6th overall.
Max Fister added to the team's success with a personal-best leap of 6.28 meters (20'7.25") in the long jump, placing 7th, while Roberto Miranda turned in a strong showing in the discus with a personal-best throw of 34.55 meters (113'4"), also finishing 7th.
The meet served as another step forward for a young Golden West squad, as multiple athletes continued to improve and make their mark during the early portion of the season.
