Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Rustler offense explodes for 16 runs in a 16-8 win over Orange Coast College in game one of the three game series.
Ayden Garcia led the way going 3-for-5 with two doubles and five runs batted in. Dylan Kordic tallied four runs batted in while going 2-for-4 at the plate.
Preston Allen, Matthew Olivares, and Jack Salmon round out the multi-hit club for the Rustler offense. The highlight being Salmon and Olivares hitting back-to-back homeruns in the bottom of the second inning.
JD Rodriguez earned his fifth win of the season going 4 and 2/3's innings while striking out seven Pirates.
The bullpen, Jack Smith, Luke Higgins, and Grant Faris were able to their jobs and close the much-needed Orange Empire Conference win.
Game two of the series will continue on Thursday, April 20, at Orange Coast College at 2pm.
