Perez Earns First Team Honors, Santiago Named Second Team All-Conference
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Golden West College softball standouts Angelique Perez and Mya Santiago have been recognized by the Orange Empire Conference for their outstanding performances during the 2026 season, earning All-Conference honors.
Perez was selected to the All-Orange Empire Conference First Team, while Santiago garnered Second Team All-Conference recognition.
Perez anchored the Rustlers' pitching staff throughout the season, appearing in 30 games with 22 starts. The sophomore right-hander compiled a 13-9 overall record, including eight conference victories, and logged 127.0 innings in the circle. She totaled 117 strikeouts on the year, averaging 6.45 strikeouts per game, while tossing six complete games. In conference play, Perez made 19 appearances with 16 starts, recording 68 strikeouts across 84.0 innings.
Her consistency and durability proved critical for Golden West, as she routinely delivered in key conference matchups and helped guide the Rustlers to a strong finish in Orange Empire Conference play.
Santiago earned Second Team honors following a productive offensive campaign. The sophomore infielder appeared in 37 games, hitting .358 overall with 38 hits, 22 runs scored, and 24 RBI. She added five doubles, two triples, and posted a .427 on-base percentage.
In conference play, Santiago continued to be a steady presence in the lineup, batting .328 with 19 hits and 11 RBI across 21 games. She also demonstrated plate discipline with eight walks and contributed defensively while handling duties on the infield.
Together, Perez and Santiago played key roles in Golden West's success this season, leading the Rustlers with both pitching strength and offensive production.
Golden West closed the 2026 campaign with a 21-16 overall record and a 12-9 mark in Orange Empire Conference play.
