Huntington Beach, Calif. - It looked like the Golden West offense finally found their rhythm early in the match as they dominated ball possession against MiraCosta College Monday night but it stalled out in a 1-1 tie.
The Rustlers (1-2-2) got on the board in the 12th minute when Wilbert LoredoSuarez delivered a sweet touch pass to a streaking Jonathan Ruiz for a early 1-0 lead. About 10 minutes later the Golden West defense had a breakdown in communication as the goalkeeper Misha Marson called for the ball in the 18yd box but his defender try to head the ball out. The header led to a MiraCosta (1-1-2) goal as Cole Simes was able to loft the ball over Marson for a one hopper into the net to tie the match at 1-1 in the 18th minute.
Both teams traded opportunities over the next 70 minutes with a couple good looks at the goals but ultimately they would end in the 1-1 tie.
